Doug Everett to retire from Public Service Commission
Public Service Commissioner Doug Everett has announced his retirement from the board after serving in the position since January 2003.
The announcement came during a Tuesday morning administrative session.
“It is with a heavy heart that I announce this decision. This Commission has been like a family to me. I have not measured my life by riches but by friendships and in that I am truly rich. It as been a privilege and honor to serve the people of Georgia,” said Everett.
Georgia Governor Nathan Deal has appointed State Representative James Shaw Jr. to fill the last two years of Everett's term.
Everett has previously served on the Albany Planning and Zoning Board of Appeals, Albany City Commission, and the Georgia House of Representatives.
