A Burke County woman accused of using drugs before her son froze to death on her front porch is fighting to get out of jail.

Jamie Basinger was in court Wednesday morning as attorneys argued over her bond and if she should be released.

In March, Basinger's 3-year-old son was found on the porch outside her home. Deputies believe the boy wandered outside during the night and died after being exposed to freezing conditions. Warrants said Basinger last saw her son at 10:30 the night before he was found dead. Basinger has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and felony child abuse.

Warrants show Basinger admitted using meth and marijuana two days before his death.
