Undated – The first supermoon of 2018 is happening on the first night of the new year!

A supermoon occurs when the moon becomes full on the same day that it reaches its perigee, which is the point in its orbit when it’s closest to Earth.

You can see the first supermoon of 2018 on January 1. Another supermoon will take place on January 31 – and, according to NASA, it will also feature a total lunar eclipse.
