Two Dougherty County Inmates have something they didn't have before going to jail.

Jennifer Castleberry and Cody Jenkins got their GEDs on Wednesday.

Castleberry is the third female to complete the program, and she wants to become an EMT.

"This was a big accomplishment for me,” Castleberry said. “I've been out of school for 22 years, and it's time for a change."

Jenkins is the 33rd male to get a GED, and he wants to go to college.

"It's opened up doors that weren't open before,” Jenkin said. “I'm pretty stoked about it."

Both inmates volunteered to be mentors for the next group to go through the program.
