'Toys for Tots' train chugging along Stuart Avenue
Christmas is only a little over a month away and the Marine Corps Logistics Base of Albany needs your help collecting toys for the annual "Toys for Tots" Donation Drive.
The Albany Salvation Army began collecting applications for the 2018 Christmas drive on Monday.
Already, Lieutenant Rebecca Sullivan says around 60 people have registered to be a part of the drive.
Sergeant James Williams says MCLB Albany looks forward to the annual program every year.
He adds that it's all about bringing a smile to every child's face during the holidays.
"For anybody that desires to give or can give, go out and donate. Give whatever you can and putting a smile on a child's face is the most important thing," said Williams.
To apply for "Toys for Tots," you must bring a completed application to the Salvation Army from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
If interested in donating, you can bring items to the FOX 31 Studio at 1201 Stuart Avenue during business hours, or to other stores that are partnered with MCLB Albany.
November 17 will be the "Stuff the Studio" event at FOX 31. You can bring toy donations to the station up until December 7.
