Back in July, Kylei Cutts became FOX 31's youngest ever Jefferson Award winner for her work helping Tift County animals.

During the summer, her goal was to raise $3,000 for the Tift County Animal Shelter by Christmas.

She recently reached that goal with about a week to go before the holiday and presented the check to the shelter on Friday.

Cutts said it was especially important to help the shelter's animals around Christmas.

"It means a lot because there's a lot of dogs coming in and out right now and it can go to help them with food and treats and blankets and stuff, so I know that I'm helping them," she said.

Now, Cutts said her new goal is to raise $4,000.
