The Sylvester Police Department is looking for young leaders.

These young leaders are to join Chief Evans to discuss the consequences of drugs and violence in their community.

The discussion will be recorded for an audio podcast. Parental consent will be required in advance. The taping will take place on October 28.

Interested teens between the age of 13 through 17 send a letter of interest to the Sylvester police department.

Teens have until October 19 to apply for this opportunity.

Chief Evans feels it’s important to engage the youth in various problems.Evans said the youth are the future, "when I'm too old to do anything they are going to have all the ideas and this allows them to start bringing those ideas forward."
