Severe storms possible this weekend across South Georgia
A cold front will push across the area Sunday bringing the chance for strong to severe storms across Southwest Georgia.
Scattered thunderstorms are expected to begin Saturday afternoon across Southeast Alabama and the Florida panhandle. A squall line will move through Saturday night through Sunday afternoon bringing a second chance for severe weather to the entire area.
The main hazards will be damaging winds, 40-60+ mph. Tornadoes are also possible Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.
Rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches are expected with locally higher amounts. Flooding is not a concern but local rivers and streams may see action stage if more than 2 inches of rain is recorded.
The National Weather Service in Tallahassee, Florida has activated spotters through Sunday night.
