Sandtrap 5.0 officials have issued a statement to FOX 31 News after a fatal shooting in the nightclub's parking lot early Sunday morning.
The statement reads: "On behalf of the SandTrap 5.0, it is very unfortunate that a young man lost his life and we are heartbroken that this happened. Our hearts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. We attempt to discourage any acts of this nature by employing Albany Police Dept., several security guards, and high-definition video surveillance; in this instance our proactive measures didn’t solidify our assurances. The victims and their accusers are from Pelham and/or Camilla, Ga and the incident stemmed from there. Please give Albany and Pelham Police Dept. the opportunity to complete their investigation and allow the judicial system to handle the accusers. We will continue proactive measures to mitigate these issues and to provide a fun and safe nightlife experience in Albany. Albany is a beautiful, safe, and fun city and we as a community have to come together to help dilute these issues and bring our city back to a fruitful and harmonious state."
