OCILLA, Ga. (WGXA) - Ryan Duke -- accused of murdering Irwin County teacher and beauty queen Tara Grinstead in 2005 -- had his motion to move trial from Irwin County court denied Monday afternoon.

The hearing started at 1:30 p.m. The judge denied Duke's change of venue motion due to lack of evidence.

Duke's attorneys also filed a motion for $10,000 bond last month, saying he has no prior felony arrests or convictions. They added he was arrested without incident after being questioned and poses no threat of fleeing.

Just before 6 p.m. Monday, the judge denied Duke bond, reportedly because evidence wasn't found that Duke wouldn't have intimidated witnesses. His trial is expected to start April 1 in Irwin County.

The court hearing continues on. Check back here for more updates.
