Pelham organization needs help to give special education students Christmas gifts
The Special Gifts for Special Kids organization in Pelham is looking for help to give kids with special needs Christmas gifts.
On December 14, they’ll be hosting their annual Christmas party for all of the special education kids in the school system.
They'll get to have a breakfast and receive gifts from Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
The kids will write down what they want for Christmas on a wishlist beforehand and give it to their teachers.
"When the teachers gather that, they provide it to us,” Steven Scott, organizer, said. “Some of them we can't do. Some of them are pretty extravagant. What we try to do is get them one nice gift like a watch or a wallet. Something that cost about $25-$30."
Scott said they'll take gifts or donations to get the toys requested by the students.
