Operation Arrowhead leads to over 50 arrests in Albany
Over 50 people have been arrested for charges in Albany after a federal, state and local law enforcement came together for Operation Arrowhead.
Operation Arrowhead was a week-long effort by the group to combat gangs in Albany.
Chief Michael Persley said that the operation was not just to arrest people, but to get to the root cause of some of the problems and get people to turn over a new leaf.
This coalition will not stop until there is peace in Albany said Charles Peeler, US Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia.
Albany was selected due to the high rate of violent crime and amount of gangs operating in the area according to officials.
Of those arrested, 19 were considered violent criminals.
