One Stop Resource Shop coming to Albany this Saturday
Albany Area Primary Health Care and the Albany Police Department are partnering up to help make the Good Life City a healthier place to live.
They're hosting a One Stop Resource Shop this Saturday. It runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mt. Zion James Earl Grant Building at 1905 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Albany.
The event is free and open to the public and will feature health care tests like blood pressure screenings and weight and height checks.
Other resources will be there as well, including mental health services, care management and voter registration.
Albany Area Primary Health Care Director of Operations David Morris said their goal is to make Albany an overall healthier place.
"That does not just include the physical health of the community, but the overall health of the community, so one of the ways that we sought out to address the issue was to make sure that we brought together all the resources that we could find and took them to the individual communities in Albany," he said.
Morris said they plan to bring this event to other parts of Albany in the future.
