Need weekend plans? Check out art museum's family day
If you're looking for something creative to do this weekend, the Albany Museum of Art might be the place to be.
The Albany Museum of Art is partnering with Albany Parks and Recreation to host Family Day on Saturday April 21.
It's a free event for people of all ages to enjoy art projects, scavenger hunts and outdoor games. People can also look at the current art exhibits at the museum.
Organizers say it's important for people, especially kids, to be exposed to art in different forms.
"The more you expose your child to different things, the more well rounded they are," Director of Education Chloe Hinton said. "Any exposure to something new gets their little brains moving. It helps with critical thinking skills and in the long run at school."
Family Day is from 10 a.m. until noon. The Albany Museum of Art is located at 311 Meadowlark Drive.
