MCLB tests emergency preparedness with annual exercise
Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany is getting better prepared to deal with any emergency that might come its way.
The base held the first day of its annual "Black Swan" exercise on Tuesday.
They practice scenarios like what to do if a building collapses or there is an explosion aboard the installation.
The base said this type of incident could cause many deaths and injuries and lots of damage if it were to happen in real life.
The drill brings together base responders with other agencies from across Southwest Georgia.
"It's a chance really for the teams to mix so that again, hopefully, we'll never have to work together in real life, but here in training, it's good to go ahead and make those relationships first," MCLB Emergency Manager Steven Dancer said.
The drill will also continue tomorrow from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
