Alexander Kane, a local actor born and raised in Fitzgerald is now giving back to the community he calls home.
On Friday, the actor unveiled a short film titled "Potter's Ground" at the Grand Theatre in Fitzgerald.
According to Kane, the short film took a weekend to shoot in entirety.
Already, the short film is winning multiple awards and has been chosen as the Dallas Rac Focus Best Short Film.
By winning the award, the film has received funding to become a full-scale feature production.
Kane says he's excited for what's to come.
Although according to the actor, Friday was all about giving back to the Fitzgerald community.
"Fitzgerald is not just a small town, it's not just a hometown that people leave and never look back. Fitzgerald's one of those places like it literally never leaves you. I've been all over the county and I cross people who say hey, I know where Fitzgerald is. How about those Purple Hurricanes? That's a big deal here," said Kane.
The short film will be seen in film festivals all over the world.
Kane says the cast is now gearing up for September when they will shoot a large-scale western.
