Lee County selected to receive Hazard Mitigation Grant
Lee County has been selected to receive the 2016 Hazard Mitigation Grant awarded by Federal Emergency Management Agency for repetitive loss properties.
Of the nineteen properties originally identified as repetitive loss or severe repetitive loss, fifteen properties qualified for acquisition and demolition for a total project cost of 2.43 million dollars.
Lee County was notified by Georgia Emergency Management Agency/Homeland Security of qualification for the nationally competitive grant last April and identified for further review by FEMA in August 2016.
Representatives say that the official award will be announced next week by GEMA/Homeland Security.
