Inspiration Conference looking to excite students Friday
If your still looking for plans this weekend, the UGA Tifton Conference Center is hosting an inspiration conference for the students of Southwest Georgia.
Event coordinator Ken Dunn says the goal is for students ages 6 to 18 to realize their full potential and follow their dreams.
According to Dunn, one of the guest speakers will include football player, Nick Chubb.
Chubb will talk about his own life journey about living in a small town and overcoming a sports injury.
There will also be a national motivational speaker along with local orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Jim Scott who will discuss sports injuries.
Dunn says the event is a perfect time for kids to be inspired and realize how important their education really is.
"We're just trying to help create awareness that there are kids out there that do need help, disadvantaged doesn't mean that your handicapped. It may mean that your in a rural area to where you can't get to a University of Georgia or somewhere like that but, were just trying to create awareness of what's kind of going on with these kids that are out there," said Dunn.
The event will be held Friday night from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m.
The cost is $10 dollars for students and $20 dollars for adults.
On Saturday, there will also be a separate seven on seven tournament that will include kids from across the Southeast.
