How to keep your home cool if you don't have an AC system
Since temperatures don't seem to be dropping very soon, this could be a very tough season for people without air conditioning systems.
You can help keep your home cool by closing your blinds and buying curtains to stop sunlight from getting in.
Your ceiling fan can run counterclockwise for cooler air.
But Jonathon Siskey with SafeAire Heating and Cooling said it's dangerous to stay in a home without AC.
"At a minimum, open a window or turn on a fan,” he said. “If you can't do that, buy a window unit or find somewhere to go. Make sure you are taking care of yourself."
Siskey adds you can purchase a window unit at most home supply stores, but these units are only a temporary fix.
