Higher Voter turnout in Ambrose

A runoff election in Ambrose drew more voters to the polls than the General Election in November.

Voter turnout was seven votes higher for the city council seat.

Out of 153 active voters in the city, 55 voters turned out on Tuesday evening.

Misty Hayes, Coffee County Board of Elections Supervisor, stated when you only have one 153 registered voters those seven votes make a big difference.

They also saw an increase in early voter turnout as well. In November, with three weeks of early voting, they received zero early voters and zero absentee voters.

In December, with five days of early voting, they saw three early voters.

In the end, Blaine Paulk won the seat over Andy Jowers.
