Georgia State Patrol sees no fatalities in Southwest Georgia over holiday period
Georgia State Patrol spent the holiday weekend patrolling busy roadways, looking for drunk drivers.
According to Sgt. First Class John Vanlandingham, the New Year's holiday count is currently at six fatalities in the state.
This number is a significant decrease from the 14 fatalities that occurred in Georgia on Christmas Day.
According to Vanlandingham, from December 25th until now, there have been zero fatalities in Southwest Georgia.
Since Friday, GSP Post 40 in Albany has made five DUI arrests.
Since the Christmas holiday, post 40 has investigated 18 crashes with 18 different injuries.
