Firehouse Subs foundation donates rescue boat to Lee County Public Safety
Lee County Public Safety has a new rescue boat thanks to a $15,000 donation from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation on Tuesday morning.
The boat will be used to help them during floods, as well as search and rescue. Lee County officials say it's especially important these days, when they're seeing more people out on the county's waterways.
Lee Co. Interim Public Safety Director Wesley Wells says "we feel confident that this contribution will definitely save a life."
Since 2005, the foundation has donated more than $28 million, including nearly $2 million here in Georgia.
The foundation will be awarding another grant next month in Tifton.
