Family-owned Turner County farm looks to win national competition
A Southwest Georgia farm is one of 100 small farms across the nation competing for a $30,000 grant for improvements.
Calhoun Produce in Turner County is entered in the Cultivating Change competition.
Co-owner Sheila Rice said they're trying to expanding their vegetable freezing and blanching, which is where the grant would help out.
"We already do it, but we want to do it on a grander scale because we feel like we want to meet the demands of our customers," she said.
