Dougherty County still cleaning up excess water from flood
Saturday's storms left a lot of water all over Dougherty County.
The county said that it has been able to control some flooding and small flooded roads.
Some houses out near Edith Drive have their entire front yards filled with water.
Chucky Mathis with Dougherty County Public Works said pumps have been placed just about everywhere.
"Working on pumping water down in low lying places, in our drainage ponds and releasing the waters that's in our canals as much as we can," said Mathis. "We've pumped down several retention ponds, got them down to acceptable level."
Public works officials say that most of the roads have been re-opened, but they aren't sure how long it will take to clear out all the water.
