ALBANY, Ga. (WFXL) — The Dougherty County Board of Commissioners honored emergency specialist Jenna Chang and Fire Chief Cedric Scott for their hard work during Hurricane Michael.
Commissioners proclaimed Monday, February 11 as Emergency Management Agency Day.
The pair was also recognized for the work they do in general, including making and updating emergency plans and working through high stress situations.
Both say they had no idea they were going to receive this award.
"I am very surprised and I'm very thankful for the recognition of the work that we do on a daily basis," said Scott.
Scott and Chang also thank their team because they say they couldn't do it by themselves.
