DNR reminds to get fishing license
Summer is right around the corner and the Department of Natural Resources wants to remind you to get a fishing license.
In Georgia, once you turn 16 a fishing license is required to fish on public waters.
If you don't have a fishing license some of the ramifications include a warning or a citation.
A fishing license isn't necessary if you plan to fish at a private owned pond.
A different type of license is required for salt water fishing.
Greg Wade, Game Warden with DNR, says, "We want everybody to have a license because it helps to secure the resources for generations to come."
According to Georgia.gov, fishing licenses costs $15 for Georgia residents.
