Commissioner's town hall to focus on strengthening new neighborhood watches
If you're trying to make your neighborhood safer, one Dougherty County commissioner wants to help you out.
Commissioner Anthony Jones is holding a town hall this Thursday on neighborhood watches, specifically for people who live in the College Park, Holly Drive and Ramsey Road subdivision.
Jones said those communities have just started up their own watch groups.
He added that these groups do more than keep a lookout for each other.
"It acts as a liaison directly to me and giving pertinent information about the county and what's going on in the county," Jones said.
Judy Bowles of Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful will speak about watch groups and answer questions.
The meeting starts Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the East Albany precinct at 1721 E. Oglethorpe Blvd.
