The Albany museum of Art hosted the first ever Chalkfest in downtown Albany.

The event featured chalk artists, craft beer and music.

The executive director of the museum, Paula Williams estimates about 3,000 people participated in the first ever Chalkfest in Albany.

Williams says it was a diverse event and allowed the museum to bring the community together through art.

They're is already planning for next year's Chalkfest. It'll be the first weekend in October.

Williams says the event will help them shift downtown, "we're so glad that the museum could bring this to Albany and it's our way into transitioning into downtown and we're really excited about that."

The Albany Museum of Art is hoping to finish their move downtown by 2020.
