APD gearing up for annual Citizen's Police Academy
Albany Police Department are gearing up for their annual Citizen's Police Academy.
The Citizen's Police Academy is a twelve-week class that gives people an inside look at the department.
Albany residents will get to tour facilities, learn more about court procedures and speak with officers from different departments.
To sign up you have to be an Albany resident, at least 18 years old and in good standing with the law.
Cpl. Dillard Glover with APD says, "The more people are informed and educated the better it is for everybody involved and we're just trying to build a good relationship between the community and the department."
The Citizen's Police Academy starts on September 18.
