Multiple arrests made in West Broad homicide
UPDATE (9 a.m. Sunday):
The Albany Police Department's Robbery-Homicide Unit and the Gang Unit worked diligently throughout the night Saturday to make several arrests in the homicide of 27-year-old Alexander Mixon.
Police say Mixon was fatally wounded during an attempted armed robbery. He was approached by two black males after being lured into 1900 West Broad Avenue, a bogus address, to deliver food. When he arrived at the vacant home, he was approached by two males and shot while inside his vehicle.
19-year-old Jaquanious Oliver arrested and charged with tampering with evidence. 18-year-old Jaylen Miller was arrested and charged with felony murder. Brothers, 19-year-old Mickee Carter and 18-year-old Iren Carter were arrested and charged with felony murder. A 17-year-old and 15-year-old were also arrested and charged with felony murder. The 17-year-old was also charged with aggravated assault.
Albany police are investigating after a person was fatally shot Saturday evening.
Police responded to the 1900 block of West Broad Avenue just after 8 p.m.
According to initial responding officers, a white male was shot in the neck and taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Police say that shortly after arriving at the Emergency Center, the male died due to his injuries.
There is no description of suspect(s) as of 10 p.m. Saturday.
