Albany Police Department is investigating a shooting on the 1400 block of Gillespie Avenue on New Year's Day.

There were at least 20 police evidence markers on the ground near an unknown amount of bullet shells.

A witness said she heard the gunshots, and it sound like "it came from an automatic gun."

Albany police confirmed Tuesday morning that the victim was grazed by a bullet during the shooting.

A suspect or motive has not been released by police.
