The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce hosted Georgia Governor Nathan Deal and First Lady Sandra Deal for the very first time at a dinner on Tuesday night.
Local elected officials, community leaders, small business owners, health care providers, and educators were in attendance at the dinner.
Chamber President and CEO Barbara Rivera Holmes says her goal was to celebrate the positive impact Governor Deal has made on the state of Georgia.
With Georgia being named the number one state in business for six years in a row, Holmes says the dinner was all about thanking the Governor and his administration for their successes.
"Tonight's really a celebration about Governor Deal, his administration, his legacy, his impact, most importantly the impact that the last eight years of this administration has had on Georgia," said Holmes.
Holmes says she would like to host future Governors in the Good Life City in the years to come.
