Actress in town for anti-human trafficking awareness
An actress is in Southwest Georgia using her platform to raise awareness to human trafficking.
Jen Lilley, actress from Days of Our Lives, is hosting an event in Sumner along with FOX 31's Kelly D'Ambrosio. SOWEGA Art Performance has partnered with ONEless Ministries to hold a concert event Saturday, June 28 at 7 p.m.
It will be at the old Sumner school building on Walnut Street. Lilley is an advocate for a number of issues and says it's important to use her platform for positive change.
"There are a couple of quotes I live by," Lilley said. "One, Anne Frank said 'No one ever became poor by giving' and I think what people don't realize is if you're having a hard time with the economy and a lot of people are, you don't have to give money. You can give your time and if you can't give your time, give your voice."
The event is free, but they are taking donations for ONEless Ministries' efforts with human trafficking.
