4C Academy selected to host statewide summit on business, education
The Commodore Conyers College & Career Academy, also known as the 4C Academy, is just beginning its second year in Albany, but it's been tapped for a big honor that will soon bring it statewide attention.
4C Academy will host Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle's annual Business and Education Summit at the end of August.
4C CEO Chris Hatcher said about 200 business and education leaders from across Georgia are expected to be there.
The day will includes tours of the school, guest speakers and a panel on the future of Georgia workforce, featuring local industry leaders.
It will also provide an opportunity for current 4C students to talk with Cagle and other attendees.
"There will actually be a panel with the lieutenant governor where he'll ask some questions about their pathways, about where they go to high school, and just really have a great interaction with our students," Hatcher said.
The summit will take place all day on Aug. 27. This year's theme is "Georgia's Success: Building a Workforce Second to None."
