1 dead, 1 injured in Americus weekend shooting

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Americus Police Department are investigating a weekend shooting that left one person dead and another in the hospital.

Investigators say they responded to a shooting incident on Waitsman Drive just after 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Arriving officers found 36-year-old Lynwood Kleckley and 26-year-old Winfred Floyd in the street with gunshot wounds.

Kleckley was pronounced dead at the scene while Floyd was life flighted to Macon for treatment.

20-year-old Tahj Ruff became a person of interest in the case and was brought in for questioning Monday morning.

The case remains under investigation.
