It's a rare thing when a young athlete receives a division one scholarship before they finish high school, but Jordan Brown did so before entering high school. Brown is a 14 year old 8th grader who has been playing basketball since he was four years old and has already received a full athletic basketball scholarship offer to play for Mississippi State University.

Brown said, "I've looked forward to the day I would get a full scholarship offer but I didn't think it would come this soon."

Brown plays AAU basketball for the Albany Elite "Tigers" and will be working to earn a spot on Dallis Smith's Westover varsity team as a freshman this season. Brown has also been invited to participate in Chris Paul's Basketball Camp in North Carolina and Stephen Curry's Basketball Camp in Atlanta later this summer. Helping Brown along the way his early career has been his father (Earnest Brown) who is also his AAU coach.

J. Brown said, "I just love the game of basketball and I practice every day, I never miss a day."

Brown has been excited about the offer, but his first goal is to be starting at the varsity level.

J. Brown said, "First I want to be a starter then before I leave Westover, win a state championship."
