Young basketball players go to work under Darton's Henry

Lea Henry's Camp of Champs is back in Albany for another year.

The Darton women's basketball coach and the camp's counselors are teaching kids of all ages basic basketball fundamentals. High school coaches from around the area are helping out, including Dougherty's Charlene Jackson.

"The main thing is that we're introducing them to the fundamentals at a young age," Coach Henry said. "There is a lot to the game, but everybody's capable of playing it if they work hard."

In the morning, the campers go through different drills to improve the skills of the game â" like dribbling or passing. In the afternoon, they split up into teams and play each other. There will be a final tournament on Friday.

Coach Henry is hosting another camp next week at Darton State.
