      Worth basketball becoming a contender

The Worth County Basketball Team open up their season by playing Houston County on the road.

Since the Arthur Davis era all he has wanted, was to see his Rams basketball team compete and take a region championship. Easier said than done. Last year the Rams fell short of a state playoff run by placing 6th in the region.

This year is a different story, Coach Davis has a strong senior core. With players from the football team turning in their pads for basketball shoes, the Rams can finally start to form as a team. Little time to waste for Worth county as they have their first test of the season on the road against Houston County.

However, it is tough to make a mark in region 1-AAAA when you have teams like Westover and Monroe, who time and time again run away with a region championship. It's not about the year's past for Worth County it is about the year to come and they feel, they will be contenders.
