In region 1-AAAA baseball, everyone is chasing powerhouse; Crisp County Cougars. The Cougars are the defending regional champs and this year they were looking at another undefeated regional season, but last night they played a Worth County Rams team that had other plans.
Crisp County entered the game 13-0 in region play, but after playing Worth County that record changed to 13-1. The Rams took the last of five lead changes in a back-and-forth game before securing the 11-6 win over the Cougars.
Once the Rams claimed the lead in the fifth inning they did not let go. Aaron Franks scored on an RBI single bringing Quantavious Sweney in for the run scored. Franks racked up three RBIs on three hits for the night. Although the Rams finished second in the region next to Crisp, they should keep their heads up for a big win over the defending champs as they look to the post season. The first round of the baseball state playoffs begin on May 2nd.
