Wakefest is back for the fifth consecutive year.
The festivities start Saturday morning at the Turner Landing Park in Albany. There is a $25 riding fee to participate in the competition, as well as raffles, a live auction, and concessions. There will also be a concert at Chehaw at 7 P.M.
"It's bragging rights," said Wakefest organizer Adam Gilbert. "We're definitely here to wakeboard a little bit and also to raise money."
Every year the event's proceeds go to a child with disabilities. This year the fundraising goes to Ty West, who was born with neuromuscular scoliosis and Down syndrome.
