The Veterans of Foreign Wars are lending their support to a group of young football players.

A $500 check was handed over to Pop Warner's Lee County Warriors.

The VFW has joined with the team so that coaches will be able to continue providing a positive outlet for the athletes.

The money will be used on overhead expenses for the team.

"That money will go a long way. Of course we have a lot of other expenses but that does a lot for us," said Travis Bozeman, Lee County Warriors.

The VFW has also supported Pop Warner in their annual golf fundraiser.
