Trent Thompson has big things coming his way.
The Westover defensive lineman is one of the country's top football recruits for the class of 2015. He's ranked number one in the ESPN300. But this summer, he's just working out with his teammates.
"If they see me do it, it'll push them to do it better," Thompson said. "I want them to be better than me."
Thompson attends team workouts four times a week, and also works with a personal trainer in the mornings. But he's also taken visits to several schools. He lists Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, and Auburn as his favorites. He's expected to wait until closer to the February signing day to make his decision.
But Westover head coach Octavia Jones has been impressed with Thompson's workouts this summer.
"He's definitely a workaholic, he puts in a lot of extra work," Jones said. "The guys feed off of that."
Thompson has big goals for his future, including a career in the NFL. But right now, he's just focused on winning a state championship with the Patriots.
