The Albany Tech Titans basketball team is entering the offseason from a productive year, but that was then and this is now. The offseason gives coaches time to think about who they have on the roster and what spots need to be filled. Over the weekend Albany Tech hosted an open tryout for the 2014-2015 basketball season. Titans head coach Sylvester Patterson has been busy signing the big guys in the paint all last week, so this weekend was about the long range scoring. Coach Patterson said, "we are looking for guards and point guards who can score and handle the ball for us."Locals with and without college experience spent the afternoon in HPER Gym on Albany State's campus to try and earn a spot on the Titans roster. Patterson was leading the young players in different shooting drills and checking out what kind of ball handling skills each player had. Although Patterson has a history of signing kids on the spot, today was about grabbing his attention for a future signing.
