Turning a successful high school career into a promising college opportunity is every athlete's dream. That dream was realized on Tuesday by Caroline Griffin of Tiftarea Academy.
Griffin signed a letter of intent to play golf at Dalton State. She'll be a part of the first women's golf team at the school under head coach Jim McGrew.
"I think she gives us instant credibility," McGrew said. "She's got tremendous talent. We feel like she has the potential to be really, really good."
Griffin has played golf competitively since she was 12, and won a state title with the Panthers when she was a sophomore. Her goals have always steered her towards college golf.
"That's pretty much been my goal since I began," Griffin said. "I've just always wanted to play in college."
