The end of Tiftarea's baseball season was disappointing, when they were swept by Tattnall Square in the GISA 3-A state championship series. But it was good news once again for the Panthers on Wednesday.
Rob Flick signed on to play baseball at Middle Georgia State, which is moving from the junior college ranks to the four-year NAIA. Chris Howell, a Middle Georgia assistant, used to coach at Tiftarea.
Flick was an all-region and all-state catcher with the Panthers, but he has some versatility that should allow him to reach the field quickly with the Knights.
"He adds depth to their entire program right away," said Tiftarea coach Brad Porter. "He's a good pickup for their program."
Tiftarea's Greer Howard signed with Emory earlier in the year, and Taylor Folsom may sign with Florida State in the coming weeks.
