It was a busy baseball Thursday in Southwest Georgia.
Worth County and Cairo are aiming to contend with Crisp County for a 4A-1 championship, and the two contenders met on Thursday in Sylvester. Rams' pitcher Denzel Gowdy threw a complete game to lead Worth to a 5-3 victory. Gowdy also had twelve strikeouts.
In 5A, Lee County went on the road and swept Bainbridge with 3-1 and 8-2 victories. Matt Hatcher and Nick Bush got wins for the Trojans. Their next game is April 4th against Northside Columbus.
In the GISA, Deerfield-Windsor also got great pitching from lefty Justin Glover in a 4-2 win over Brookwood. The Knights don't play again until April 4th.
