The Georgia Recreation and Parks Association's Class B and C state swim meet is this weekend in Tifton.
The competition began with preliminaries on Friday morning and finals in the afternoon. The format is the same on Saturday, but for older swimmers.
There are over 700 swimmers participating in the meet, and over 5,000 spectators. Swim teams from 30 districts had athletes qualify for the state meet, including teams from Moultrie, Fitzgerald and Douglas.
"This where a lot of pure, community recreation swim teams come and let their young men and women shine," said Tift County Recreation Director Craig Sowell.
Tifton has hosted the meet every year since 2004.
