Southwest Georgia Teams hold on in playoffs

Entering Friday night there were only five schools still left to represent Southwest Georgia. Colquitt County won the coin toss to take on Milton in Moultrie. Brooks County loss the coin toss and traveled to Heard County. Fitzgerald hosted Pace Academy and Irwin County hosting Dooly County. Finally in single A Calhoun County traveled to Commerce after upsetting Mitchell just a week ago.

Colquitt County beat Milton 42-35 and will host McEachern in a final four match-up on Friday. McEachern beat Tucker 62-36 and this is the 6th straight year that the Colquitt County Packers have returned to the semifinals. Fitzgerald rolled pass Pace Academy 49-21 and will once again return home, only this time the Purple Hurricanes will be hosting Greater Atlanta Christian. GAC beat Vidalia 34-22.

Brooks County was on the road to Heard County and it came down to a missed extra point that determined the outcome, Trojans won 35-34. Brooks County will return home for their final four match-up against Benedictine who beat Lovett 31-10.

Single A, Irwin County was at home hosting Dooly County for round two of the playoffs and earned the win 40-29. The Irwin County Indians will return home to take on Commerce. Commerce beat Calhoun County in a close match-up 10-0. Only four teams left but all four will be returning home to play in front of their home crowd.
