Wednesday night was sophomore night for Albany Tech and Darton State basketball.
At Darton State, it was a success. The Cavaliers were a little sloppy in the opening minutes, but eventually pounced on Chattahoochee Tech, 99-49. Darton is comfortably in fourth place in the GCAA standings.
For Albany Tech, the night was bittersweet with both teams losing by two points apiece. The women staged a furious rally to try to erase a 15-point deficit, but eventually fell, 64-62. The Lady Titans had a chance to tie the game late but missed a free throw. The Titans played well but Georgia Highlands eventually got the best of Sylvester Patterson's team, 73-71.
