The soccer program at Sherwood Christian has seen a lot of growth over the years and Legacy Park is the host to the largest high school soccer tournament in the state. Over the weekend, Sherwood Christian hosted its Sixth Annual Eagle Invitational Soccer Tournament with 28 different teams in attendance. Although the tournament doesn't affect regular season play for any team, the event gives teams a different look at some of the state's best soccer programs.
This is a two day tournament that started on Friday with a finals game wrapping up Saturday evening for both a boys and girls team. The tournament is played on a bracket system with each team getting the chance to play at less three games between the two days.
Sherwood Christian girls found themselves in the semifinal round facing off against Mount de Sales, and with a close game resulting in penalty kicks the lady Eagles fell 1-1 to Mount de Sales. For Sherwood, Kylee Harrod scored the only goal in the first half to tie the game 1-1 heading into half time.
